Yokai Talk 7: Jonny Smith - Ringu and the J-Horror revolution

Join speaker Jonny Smith as he gives a short introduction to J-horror cinema of the late 90s and early 2000s. He focuses specifically on Ringu (1998), also looks back to some classic Japanese horror and thriller films and forwards to how Ringu affected cinema not only in Japan but other parts of the world.

About the speaker:
Senior library assistant and film fanatic Jonny Smith has been a fan of Japanese cinema ever since he saw Seven Samurai (1954) in his late teens. Jonny has never studied cinema but has built-up his knowledge from many years of watching, reading and arguing about films with fellow nerds.
