Originally from Auckland, Alex Ventling has been touring and studying the last years in Switzerland, Germany and Scandinavia, recently graduating the international ‘European Jazz Masters’. On rare occasions he finds his way back home, collaborating with Michael Howell on guitar, Mostyn Cole on double bass and Andy Keegan on drums, where the group will present an open approach to Alex’s originals and a selection of jazz standards. Listening and interaction is the focus in Alex’s bands, where the music leads the players intuitively, with no preconceptions. This will be a unique band sound.
