A silent art auction is to be held at No.23 art gallery in Carterton, Wairarapa. This fundraiser for the gallery welcomes bidding from the public from Saturday the 18th November, closing on the 2nd of December. The artworks will be on display from mid-November at the gallery and are a selection from the estate of Wairarapa painter and exquisite stitchery artist, Carol Anne Bauer. Carol was originally from Connecticut, USA. and was a prolific artist often painting on perspex on both sides, giving her work a 3D effect. Carol has a piece of work in the White House in America and at the NZ Dairy Board office in Tokyo. She co-founded The Koru Fibre artist's group in Wellington and exhibited regularly at solo and group shows. The auction will also include 1 or 2 works as blind bids. The winning bidders will be notified by 3.30pm on Saturday the 2nd of December. To round off the event - a live auction of additional works will follow at 4pm on the final day, open to the public by gold coin donation, with juice bubbles and nibbles provided.

These works have been donated by a family member, who is also an artist and exhibitor at the gallery. It is a great opportunity to own a beautiful artwork produced by a talented professional artist from a legacy of remaining pieces. The No.23 Gallery facebook page may post some images of works to view, from around the start of the auction on the 18th of November. Thanks for any support for our community gallery!

Please note the gallery is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
