Art Journaling for Beginners

Art Journaling is a wonderful way to find the courage and freedom to express yourself and experiment with creativity. In this course with tutor Sue Cheer, you will create a unique hand-bound journal using easy-to-find materials and simple, fun techniques. This course is designed to bring a child-like spirit and playfulness to creating. You will use collage, acrylic paint, acrylic ink, alcohol inks, markers, stencils and monoprinting to create patterned papers that will be bound into a beautiful journal that is ready for your use. Anyone can join - no experience needed!

The course will have the following structure over the 6 weeks:

• Collage
• Stencilling and expressive mark-making
• Monoprinting using Gelli plates
• Image transfers
• Alcohol inks
• Book Binding

The tutor will vary the content to adapt to people's needs so that returning students will benefit from new techniques.

The cost is $80 for the 6 week course. Please note that this is due at least 7 days before the start date of your class. This is payable by credit card via Paypal or internet banking. If you are enrolling less than 7 days before the class starts, please pay immediately.

If you have a Community Services Card, the fee is reduced by 50% to $40. In this case, please email your name, address and phone number to dunedinwea@gmail.com stating which course you want to enrol in, including a photo or scan of your Community Services Card. We will enrol you and you can then pay the discounted price by internet banking.
