Are you just starting out in your professional career and are new to the corporate environment? Are you interested in learning from successful women in the corporate world? Want to connect with like-minded individuals and hear their experiences? Then join us for our Coffee Conversation mornings - Coffee included!
This month we will be joined by Jan Malcolms! Jan is a trailblazer in many ways, coming from people's rights rather than gender rights, she has always believed herself to be a person before a woman. However, as many women do, Jan still at times fights the inner battle about her place and with impostor syndrome.
Jan had a father who believed a woman's place was (silent) in the kitchen and looking after children, however Jan was one of only two girls in NZ to do technical drawing at her time in college - 1967. She fought for her right to be at the executive table, learning very early on that a woman had to do more than any man on the team just to be accepted. Since then, Jan has become an accomplished senior manager having been a member of Executive teams for a number of New Zealand
Companies for almost 25 years, managing teams from 5 to 90 staff. She has published and presented papers at numerous conferences on customer satisfaction, staff motivation and development and business strategy and planning.
So come armed with your questions, opinions, and stories. This is a great opportunity to learn from seasoned professionals and connect with peers in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Plus, there will be coffee to fuel your morning!
This is not a structured event and attendees will have the opportunity to talk about what they want, with AYP facilitators to help the conversation flow naturally. This means spaces are strictly limited to ensure everybody has a chance to speak.
