Ever wondered how the buzzing communities of bee’s work? Or how hexagonal honeycomb is created?
Join us in the beeautiful hills of Island Bay for a sweet day of honey and learning. Our beekeepers are here to teach you about bee anatomy, hive building, pollunation and more!
Come visit the colony of bees we have nestled in our garden here at Our Lady’s Home of Compassion. This event is part of Bee Aware Month, in conjunction with Apiculture NZ and the Wellington City Council which aims to get all Kiwis taking action to support and protect bees. As the global population of bee’s declines, it’s vital we teach the next generations to become champions for our buzzy friends, and it all starts with education.
