This is an introductory Beginners Botanical Art weekend workshop. It will open participants up to the timeless beauty of botanical art with a specific focus on New Zealand botanical art history and native plants. The workshop is suitable for those who love art and nature!

Her approach to the weekend is to spend the first day drawing and second day painting botanical specimens in either acrylic (which she uses in her own practice) or watercolour palette paint. All the materials needed for the weekend will be provided in class and no experience is necessary, as Tabatha works one on one with students throughout the weekend.

Tabatha has a Doctorate in Fine Arts (Uni of Akld) and has been teaching botanical art for 20 years around NZ and the Cook Islands. She is an exhibiting artist and focuses her contemporary practice on ethnobotanical themes within the South Pacific. She is represented by Bergman Gallery in Auckland and Rarotonga where she and her family lived for 6 years. She currently lives in Opunake, on the South Taranaki coast.
