Blackwell's Fire and Ice Festival

Blackwell's Fire and Ice Festival is back in 2023 with flames and festivities for the winter season.

Victor Cagayat once again returns to perform his spectacular ice sculpting between 12.30-3.30pm in the Blackwell's Department Store car park. This year a competition will be held for local young children to inspire a design for one of Victor's ice sculpture creations. Strawberry Fairy and her fairy friend will be joining us for free face painting and magical moments between 1.30-3.30pm.

The Night Market will run from 4.30-7.30pm. We welcome many of our previous food and craft stallholders in addition to some new stalls! Once dark, the ice sculptures will be lit up with Dr Sanchez playing the soundtrack of the night with his Latin Guitar. Complimentary mulled wine will be available for those over 18 years.

We are excited to welcome Sam and Tyla, aerial artists who will perform both solo and duo aerial skills between 4.30-5.30pm. Be amazed by and interact with roaming stilt walkers and LED hula hoopers between 5.30-7.30pm. Finally Kitty Strawberry, a local Christchurch Fire and LED performer, will pair up with Otautahi Fire Group to bring the crowds an amazing fire performance including fire poi and fire breathing!
