You are cordially invited to a performance of Brockes’ text of The Passion, with music by Handel. Guest soloists Jayne Tankersley, Iain Tetley, and Aidan Thomas Phillips join Scholars Baroque Aotearoa and the OPUS orchestra. This fabulous composition depicts the drama of the last days of Christ, through beautiful and familiar themes evoking classic German hymns.

Jayne Tankersley, gifted baroque specialist soprano, portrays the Daughter of Zion. Iain Tetley, Tenor, gives voice to the Evangelist. Aidan Phillips, Baritone, inhabits the role of Jesus. Other soloists from the choir include former and current Scholars choristers Jeandre Le Roux, Tamsyn Puren, Henry Shum, Tim Rogers, and Vince Shaw.
