On September 14th 1893, after 13 petitions to Government, New Zealand, women were given the right to vote.
Swing Club Ukes, and performance group 'The Hot Tubs", present to you a celebratory concert, including song sheets for audience participation,
The programme includes songs that feature the Women's rights and Union movements, and lighthearted songs about women from the bar rooms and barrel houses of the time.
Kate Sheppard and the Suffrage movement will be recognized,
Swing Club Ukes is a community-based group who play, blues, ragtime, country rock etc. regularly at events across the Wellington region.
