Canterbury Film Society would like to invite everyone, over 16, to come along for our free screening of The Captain (Robert Schwentke • 2017 • 118 mins • Germany/France/Poland • R16)
The Captain is an exquisitely shot black-and-white WWII historical drama set in the final weeks before Germany’s fall. A young German soldier fighting for survival finds a Nazi captain's uniform. Impersonating an officer, the man quickly takes on the monstrous identity of the perpetrators he's escaping from.
This is an open event screened in co-operation with the Goethe-Institut and non-members are encouraged to come and join us with admission by donation/koha at the door. Non-ticketed: first come, first served so arrive early to avoid disappointment. Please note this film has been rated R16.
The Canterbury Film Society offers weekly screenings of top-quality films – arthouse, classic, cult, documentary, world cinema and more – on the big screen. We screen on Monday night at 7.30pm, doors open 7.00pm with drinks and home-baked food for purchase.
