Jessie Graham and Georgie Cole are Woodford House Old Girls who sang together in the Chapel Choir when they were at school. Being students of the late 90's and early 2000's means they were lucky enough to be instructed by Mr Gary Bowler. And so here at this event, after twenty years, we are bringing back the beautiful carols we used to sing together each Christmas as school girls.
You will enjoy a concert of solos and duets from Jessie and Georgie, accompanied by the fabulous Anna Hansen on the piano. These carols are the classics; and joining us with only days to go until Christmas, will be a lovely opportunity for you to bring your family along to rejoice in the beauty and serenity of Christmases of old.
Both women have continued their careers in Music, with Jessie now living and working in Germany and Austria where she has recently been singing with the Salzburg Landestheater in several Opera productions.
Georgie is a local music teacher and performer across Hawke's Bay. After almost eight years as Head of Music at Iona College, she now runs 'GeorgieColeMusic' from her studio in Hastings with many of her students coming from our Havelock North schools. Georgie runs 'The Kids Sing' choral competition each year and she has recently taken on the director's role the annual Arts festival, 'Fringe in the Stings'.
Anna Hansen is a well-known local accompanist who plays the piano for various choirs groups and soloists. She holds her LTCL and is the pianist for Hastings Choral and The Choraliars. She is well-known for her skilful ability at the keys. She plays with poise, beauty and consideration, enriching all performances she is part of.
All three women have a strong local connection to Havelock North and so we are excited to bring you this concert in the heart of the village at the wonderful St Luke's Anglican Church.
