Climate Strike Aotearoa

Nau mai, haere mai! Welcome all to the 2nd climate strike of 2023, a key year to get climate action on the political table!

We are continuing our people-powered road trip around Tāmaki Makaurau, this time from Victoria Park to the Auckland Council building.

As a nation, School Strike 4 Climate and Fridays for Future have collaborated on 4 national demands, as well as two optional regional demands for each city. in Tāmaki Makaurau, our demands are simple: when it comes to the recently proposed budget cuts from Auckland council, we say:
1) No Cuts
2) No Asset Sales

Tāmaki Makaurau can take a more equitable approach to the budget deficit at hand by taxing excessive wealth instead of purging climate action and social justice. We must put people and the planet before profit once more.
