Join the DOC and the New Zealand Marine Studies Centre and experience the wonder of underwater Aotearoa through virtual reality.
This is an engaging, inspiring and educational one-hour session where you can experience VR videos filmed by New Zealand Geographic in marine environments around Aotearoa. Compare northern marine environments with ones in the deep south, and pristine marine environments with degraded ones. Investigate what causes this damage with a focus on overfishing and pollution, as well as what actions can be taken to show kaitiakitanga and protect the moana.
Also learn more about our local taonga species like Sea Lions and Hoiho, and what actions you can take to help them out.
This event may not be suitable for people with photosensitivity/epilepsy and is only suitable for children aged 10+.
Tickets are $10.00 (plus booking fee) and available on the linked Humantix website.
There is a limited number of spaces available so get in quick to secure your spot.
