Imagine a society that is able to make transformative change in urban and climate matters, while meeting today’s needs and protecting the wellbeing of future generations. How might we create such a regenerative future? And what role do the interconnected urban dimensions of housing, land use and transport play within this?

Join us for a conversation with Sophie Howe, who has recently completed her seven-year term as inaugural Future Generations Commissioner for Wales, to find out.

The Future Generations Commissioner role was established as a type of guardianship over the interests of future generations and as part of the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015, which aims to make Wales a better place to live. This act requires all main public institutions to demonstrate how they are meeting today’s needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own.

Sophie will explain the transformations Wales has made since the role has come into effect and how this aligns with making Wales a better place to live and, importantly, the cultural, social and political change that enables this evolution.

Josiah Tualamali’i then joins Sophie for a conversation, before she fields questions from the audience – both those that are in the room and are online.

This is a free event, but bookings are required. You can join us in person or watch the event online

The series is made possible by the support and enthusiasm of our family of sponsors and supporters.
