CJC Creative Jazz Club is pleased to welcome Russ Spiegel to Aotearoa New Zealand.
Russ Spiegel is a commissioned composer and arranger as well as a highly respected guitarist, producer, bandleader, writer, musicologist, and award-winning sound engineer.
Studying first at Berklee, Russ spent more than a decade living and performing in Europe before returning to the US where he settled in New York City. He earned his master’s degree in jazz performance at the City College of New York under the aegis of John Pattitucci before going on to receive his doctorate in Jazz Composition at the University of Miami Frost School of Music as a Henry Mancini Institute Fellow.
Russ has released several CDs, scores music for film, and has appeared in a number of feature films and television shows as both a musician and actor.
For this special CJC concert, he’s teaming up with a fantastic group of locals to play his music: a septet featuring Callum Passells, Roger Manins, Finn Scholes, Connor McAneny, Cam McArthur and Dan Waterson.
