Creepy Crawly Bug Catchers Workshop 2023

Make a catcher for bugs from recycled/upcycled materials brought from home (some supplies available on the day) and let's go find a bug to catch in the nearby gardens. Return the bug to its chosen habitat. Take your catcher home and see what you can find in your garden at home or when on holiday. Perhaps you will rid the garden of some pests too.

Trip length: 1.5 hr
Minimum Age: 5 years. Younger students best to have a reliable adult or youth helper

Meeting Place: Taupō Museum &Art Gallery Ora Garden
Cost: Free. Koha to Project Tongariro is greatly appreciated.

Participants are asked to bring:
- Suitable items no longer in use at home; natural materials such as plastic bottles that will not degrade in sunlight; harakeke, sticks, clean takeaway utensils etc
- Closed in comfortable shoes
- Sunhat
- Jacket
