True Crime – Bolton Street Cemetery edition! Hear stories about some of the villains and murderers that shocked earlier generations in Wellington, as well as the gaolers, judges, and policemen who were dealing with the city's criminal elements on a guided tour of Wellington's first cemetery.
The tour starts at Bolton Street Cemetery, Kinross Street entrance. The tour ends at the Bolton Street Cemetery Museum.
Please wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. Some of the paths are steep and can be slippery, care is required. The tour may be cancelled in bad weather.
The Friends of Bolton Street Cemetery are an enthusiastic group of volunteers, some living in the neighbourhood, and some are descendants of people buried in the cemetery. Learn more about them and join through the website linked above.
