Warm up this winter by joining the crew from Covert Theatre where you’ll be invited to view a classic black and white movie, only the twist is, it’ll be dubbed over live by some of the country’s top improvisors.
Dubbed Dubtastic, this bold new venture is brought to life by leading lights of the Kiwi comedy scene.
Marvel as your team of accomplished comedians takes on a different black and white movie each night – sourced from titles like Frankenstein meets the space monster, Night of the blood beast and The brain eaters - where they’ll improvise not only the dialogue, but the sound effects too, ensuring the cast is likely to be as surprised with what emerges as the audience.
To prove its not all pre-rehearsed, audience members will be asked to select which movie the actors dub on any given night, so you can be sure this is the purest, freshest improv ever served up.
Promising to be a rollicking hour long celebration of the art of audio improvisation, the sort of show you could see again and again and never experience the same thing twice!
Our fully licensed bar opens one hour before the show begins so come and have a drink before the show.
No audience member is brought up on stage, so you can relax and enjoy the show from the comfort of your seat.
