Over the last few weeks, the utter destruction affecting many in our communities has become apparent. For venues in the worst affected locations on the East Coast, our hearts go out to you. Smash Palace and Dome Bar in Gisborne. The Cabana, Paisley Stage, Common Room and Spaceship have all been devastated by Cyclone Gabrielle. These venues are currently unable to trade at full capacity, if at all, and won’t be opening their doors for touring acts for quite some time. However, these venues are playing a vital part in supporting their communities right now, and these gigs are to show that wider music whānau of Aotearoa are here to support these venues most affected.

Established by a group of passionate people from the New Zealand music scene in 2020 during the first wave of COVID, Save Our Venues assisted in raising almost half a million dollars in donations for live music venues around Aotearoa, helping ensure their survival and playing a vital role in strengthening communities.

Once again, Aotearoa is faced with a crisis that requires us to work together to #saveourvenues
