Join us in celebrating the release of Ersha Island 二沙岛's second single, "Like The Other Kids", featuring Iris Zhang 张雨清 & Geoff Ong 王国豪. The single is the second to be released ahead of their upcoming debut EP "Back To Our Roots", available in February 2024.

ERSHA ISLAND 二沙岛
Indie-folk duo Ersha Island 二沙岛 are Chinese-Pākeha siblings Danielle Hao-Aickin 郝丹丹 and Tee Hao-Aickin 郝婷婷 who combine unique sounds from their cultural heritage, exploring what it means to be of mixed identity through lyrics, storytelling, and sound. Having chalked up distinctions in Piano and Violin for Classical Performance at the China Conservatory of Music in Beijing at ages 11 and 8, the siblings now write compositions featuring a blend of Eastern and Western sounds. They released debut singles Gut Feeling and Good Day in February 2022 on both Western and Asian/Chinese platforms along with two engaging music videos, and their latest single My Mother's Mountains and My Father's Sea released in October 2023 marks the first song on their upcoming EP Back To Our Roots.

IRIS ZHANG 张雨清
Iris embarked on her musical journey at the tender age of 4 when she began piano lessons. As she grew, she honed her talents not only as a classically trained flautist and proficient Chinese zither player but also as a self-taught guitarist. The confident child who used to serenade herself to sleep every night evolved into a passionate vocalist, gracing numerous choirs, churches, and competitions with her melodic presence. More recently, she has gained recognition for her YouTube covers, amassing a dedicated online fanbase and catching the attention of established artists, most notably Shawn Mendes, who reacted to one of her videos, which has since amassed over 24 million views. Her latest single 'Lemon Tree' made its mark on the award-winning TV series Creamerie.

GEOFF ONG 王国豪
Geoff Ong 王国豪 wants to be a pop star for dorks. Pop music can feel lacking in authenticity and connection, especially for people who don’t always feel like they fit in with the cool kids. Geoff Ong wants to fix that. This is the mainstream, for the misfits. Over the last 4 years, Geoff has been building a career as an independent artist in New Zealand - cultivating a passionate fanbase through a combination of online engagement, electric live performances, and his own brand of quirky pop songwriting. With 5 songs from his 2020 debut album “Maybe It’ll Be Alright” landing in the Top 5 of the Official NZ Music Charts and consistent radio airplay across New Zealand's commercial hit music stations, it’s clear that there is big love for Geoff’s music. Geoff also feels strongly about the importance of racial diversity and representation in mainstream media; as one of the few Asian faces in the pop music sphere, Geoff feels a responsibility to create discussions around this.
