The Motueka Music Group is pleased to announce that gypsy violinist Fiona
Pears will be performing at the Chanel Arts Centre later this month. She will be
joined by guitarist Connor Hartley-Hall and jazz pianist Dan Robertson. The trio
share a love for gypsy jazz. This music was originally made famous by legendary
guitarist Django Reinhardt and French virtuoso violinist Stéphane Grappelli,
when they formed the 'Quintette du Hot Club de France' back in the 1930s.
The music the trio performs is a mix of fiery Gypsy jazz, beautiful ballads and
well known classics.
Tickets (adults $25. Schoolchildren $5) can be purchased at Floral Affaire, High Street, Motueka (cash only) or at the Chanel on the night of the concert (eftpos available)
