Jang Huddle presents a community contemporary dance show, everyone is welcome to dance!
"I Don't Wanna Dance Alone" celebrates the joy of movement and connection through an all ages, all Asian cast of 11 people from diverse dance backgrounds.
Facilitated by Cindy Yunha Jang-Barlow and choreographed with the performers to an original soundtrack by Callum Lee from Rewind Fields.
Exploring themes of inclusion, intergenerational dynamics and empowering the inner child.
There will be spoken word poetry, live music and the joy of movement!
This is our second showcase for the community after a successful season at The Factory Theatre in Onehunga in April!
Our aim is to show this work to a wider audience and support more Asians in Aotearoa to get involved in contemporary movement.
"How freeing and dynamic the movements were the expressions and emotion comes through fantastically" - Audience Member Feedback
For this specific community show with Ōrākei Creatives, we have a special guest music performance by Jefferson Chen and team- Goodspace!
Thank you to Ōrakei Creatives and Ōrakei Local Board for your funding and support.
