Friends of Fresh and Fresh Gallery Ōtara invites to you come along to a lively and real talk discussion about the Auckland Council draft budget (2023/2024) from the perspective of Southside locals Ema Tavola, Leilani Kake and Efeso Collins. The draft budget proposes to cut $36.5m from regional arts, events, and community initiatives; hear about Fresh Gallery Ōtara’s unique grassroots beginnings and the role Council has historically played in celebrating, stimulating and growing local creative ecologies to inspire pride and connection for local communities. Aucklanders are currently welcome to make submissions to Council to share thoughts on the proposed budget cuts; come along for a demonstration on how to share your feedback and opinions to make them count. Kai will be provided, bring a friend; this is a whānau friendly event - all welcome.
