Friends Who Paint

Maggie Rudd and Wendy O’Callaghan share a passion for art, they paint together frequently and enjoy exploring new ideas. They are both abstract artists, each with their own recognisable style.

Wendy is inspired by the local landscape, capturing the essence of a place in colour and shape. Nature resonates with her; leaves, clouds, rocks and water, all have a place in her work.

Maggie is more concerned with colour and line. She loves the clarity of transparent colours and the juxtaposition of one against the other. She also enjoys working with pencil and collage, using her own printed papers.

They have both sold art before, but this will be their first exhibition. Working to a deadline and ensuring everything is finished to a high standard, is the goal they have set themselves, a personal challenge.

Taupō Museum is open 7 days from 10am to 4:30pm and entry is free to Taupō District residents with proof of address. Children 0 – 18 Free, Seniors 60+ and Students $3, Adults $5
