Getting Closer – Workshop

This special photography workshop will be hosted by local author and photographer Paul Sorrell. He will share tips, tricks, and specialist knowledge for the perfect shot.

Paul is an experienced nature photographer who is passionate about bringing art and nature together through photography. With a focus on lighting, backgrounds and composition, Paul credits his results to many hard hours of focus in the field. In 2021 he published his photography handbook Getting Closer Rediscovering Nature Through Bird Photography, a guide to connecting to nature using a photographer’s eye.

Participation in the workshop is koha but places must be booked. You can also join Paul on Saturday the 23rd of April at Orokonui for a guided walk and try out your new-found photography skills! Enter your images in the Tūhura Photography Competition before it closes on Monday 1 May.
