7pm: Get your creep on with a show about Black Holes. They’re one of the most intriguing and mysterious phenomena in the universe: places where time and space warp to the extreme, and nothing – not even light – can escape.
8.30pm: Phantom of the Universe is an exciting exploration of dark matter, from the Big Bang to its anticipated discovery at the Large Hadron Collider. Journey across space and time to the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, speeding alongside particles before they collide in visually stunning explosions of light and sound, while learning how scientists around the world are collaborating to track down the constituents of dark matter.
After each show there's a spooky astronomy kōrero/tour of the stars. Hear about zombie satellites, moon lunacy, see the Witch Head nebula, and try not to lose your mind as you fly to the edge of the universe. Yikes.
There's free popcorn for everyone and prizes for best Halloween costume!
Courtyard telescopes will run after each show if weather permits.
