Join us for a celebration of all things Rat King Landlord! We're hosting an exhibition as well as a reading and discussions about the novel! This is a chance for you, to come down and meet and mingle, hear from the team behind the work, and celebrate the printing of Rat King Landlord!

- 5:30PM - We've done it, welcome to the Launch of Rat King Landlord
- 5:45PM - Murdoch Stephens (Author), Geordie Rogers (RU President) speak about Activism & Art.

We managed to fit a whole novel, 16 beautiful illustrations, and a bunch of pro-renter propaganda into one free, 40 page, newsprint text so what's the natural next step? Making it far bigger of course! We're reproducing the entire text into a full scale art exhibition where you can get up close and personal with some of our favourite rats and renters.

We'll supply some nibbles and some drinks. We appreciate your support in ensuring that this event remains safe for all, and feel encouraged to take any Covid precautions you feel necessary such as mask-wearing.

You'll also have the chance to purchase art prints of some of the illustrations, as well as some other art-related goodies and Murdoch Stephens' other work, and of course, free copies of Rat King Landlord!
----
Renters United has collaborated with the Lawrence & Gibson publishing collective to produce thousands of copies of the great New Zealand novel Rat King Landlord ("last year’s surprise literary hit" Stuff) to share across the country for absolutely free.

The special Renters United edition has been printed at a tabloid newspaper size and contains the full novel and 16 original illustrations by well-known NZ artists as well as additional resources and information for renters.

Rat King Landlord was originally published in 2020 and tells the story of a group of flatmates who discover that the rat who they were trying to get rid of has become their landlord. As the rats of Wellington begin to organise, cryptic posters appear around Wellington inviting renters to join an evening of mayhem.
