Bringing a stunning selection of work from over 30 local, national and international artists, The Hastings Community Arts Centre welcomes Ha-Wai-Ki-Nui for its annual Festival showcase exhibition.

In response to the devastating floods in Te Tai Rawhiti and Te Matau-a-Māui, we are reconnected back to the essence of water with a kaupapa to heal and empower. Visitors are encouraged to recognise that although water has been a source of heartache it is a sacred entity interconnected with all life.

Through painting, sculpture, weaving and mixed-media you are invited to immerse yourself in a contemplative journey which aims to reposition our emotions about water. Attention is redirected to the root cause: man’s greed and destructive practices.

Through introspection and education Ha-Wai-Ki-Nui serves as a catalyst for change, fostering a renewed commitment to preserving and restoring the delicate equilibrium between land, water, and all living beings.

This powerful exhibition takes over the gallery space for the entire month of October ‒ we invite you to take your time exploring these compelling and relevant works of art, featuring works by;
