Celebrate the Wellington Heritage Festival 2023 with the Friends of the Wellington Botanic Garden!

This heritage walk of 60 minutes in the main garden reflects on the past hundred years of the Botanic Garden through the views of 20th-century postcards from a collection in the Wellington City Council Archives.

Meet at the Founders' entrance. Anne-Marie Ngan, Guide with Friends of Wellington Botanic Garden will be taking this tour. Please wear good shoes and dress for the weather. The tour may be cancelled in bad weather.

The Friends of the Wellington Botanic Garden are a group of supporters of the mahi of Wellington Botanic Garden. Some of us are gardeners, some are plant geeks, and some just love the Garden! We are united in the kaupapa of supporting the Garden, their staff, and their mahi in conservation, education, and horticulture. Since our early beginnings, one of our goals has been to provide a guiding service for the Garden. As Wellington has grown to become a destination to hundreds of cruise ships each year, we too have grown our services to help travellers navigate the garden and help visitors get the best experience of the Wellington Botanic Garden. The easiest way to get involved is by following us on Facebook or send us an email to wbgfriends@gmail.com
