Intro to Painting Series: CANCELLED

Intro to Painting Series with Joanne Ridley-McBeth 1-5pm for only $50 per session

Gain confidence with painting & learn different mediums, colour theory, applications and techniques in this series of six intro lessons.

Session 1 - Sun 12th March
Frame, stretching canvas, priming canvas, stretching watercolour paper

Session 2 - Sun 16th April
Subject matter, colour theory, design elements & principles, composition

Session 3 - Sun 14th May
Experiment with different mediums - oil, acrylic, water colour (resists), gouache, tempera, ink and spray paint

Session 4 - Sun 11th June
Exploration of tools & equipment - brushes, palette knives, sponges and art kit maintenance

Session 5 - Sun 9th July
Practice applying colours, strokes and textures and explore techniques such as dry brushing, washes, thick over thin, and blocking in.

*Expect to get messy during this session and bring some old clothes to wear – Aprons on hand at Fareham Creative Space*

Session 6 - Sun 13th August
The sixth session pulls all of the previous workshops together and participants learn how to create a painting of their own.

Everybody welcome, no experience necessary and everything provided on the day.
