Lake Orbell Expedition: A Journey into Takahē Valley

Join Takahē Recovery Programme Rangers on a full day excursion following the historic Orbell expedition that rediscovered the takahē. Boat across Lake Te Anau and hike the 700m Tunnel Burn to Lake Orbell high in the Murchison Mountains. Discover how the Takahē Team and partners are working to return takahē to the wild.

NB: This trip requires a high level of fitness to ascend 3.5hrs on a steep route. Trip dependent on weather and route conditions. Confirmation sent via email with preference to first time attendees. 7.45am -5.30pm. $80pp.
