Be a part of an unforgettable bonding experience with a special young person in your life by joining our adult & child Catalan tray weaving workshop. Through this unique and hands-on experience, deepen your connection while learning eco-friendly weaving techniques.

In this beginner-friendly workshop, craft functional and charming Catalan trays using sustainable materials. Ideal for displaying bread, cheese, fruit, or using as grazing boards, these trays are traditionally woven with willow on sturdy hazel or willow hoops. Our trays will be made from an eclectic mix of foraged natural materials, including versatile twigs, giving them a unique, attractive, and sustainable finish.

Weaving offers developmental benefits for both children and adults, such as enhanced patience, creativity, and attention to detail. Participants will improve their fine motor skills and engage in a calming activity, fostering better focus and concentration. By learning and practicing this skill together, you'll strengthen teamwork and have a great time.

Upon completing the workshop, use these beautiful Catalan trays as wall decorations or eye-catching table centerpieces when not in use. Register now and weave your way to a memorable experience!

Limited to 6 adult-child pairs. Sponsorships available (just ask). Bookings essential: https://www.riverside.org.nz/event-details/make-a-catalan-basket-a-weaving-workshop-for-adults-kids.
