In this workshop, you’ll be guided step-by-step through the process of creating your own star using macrame. You’ll learn the basics of macrame, including how to tie knots and create intricate designs. Michelle will share her knowledge and experience with you, providing guidance and support throughout the workshop.

This workshop is suitable for all skill levels, whether you’re a seasoned macrame artist or a complete beginner. You’ll be able to take home a beautiful star that you’ve created yourself, along with the skills and knowledge to continue your macrame journey.

Not only is this workshop a great way to celebrate Matariki, but it’s also a fun and engaging activity to do with friends or family. You’ll have the opportunity to share in the joy of creating something beautiful together.

Matariki is the bright star signifying reflection, hope, our connection to the environment, and the gathering of people. The cluster of stars represents the new cycle of life, the Maori New Year. Michelle zhao enjoys a variety of art and crafts. She has been teaching leather craft for 7 years overseas but now spends most of her leisure time doing macrame.
