The following organisations U3A, McLeods Booksellers, Allen and Unwin and Rotorua Library are excited to bring you a special author presentation! Claire Baylis author of a debut novel called Dice, will be at Rotorua Library on Monday the 18th from 2pm offering a free author discussion.

Dice is a Rotorua-set courtroom drama with a twist. It’s told through the eyes of 12 jurors who need to decide whether four teenage boys are guilty of sexual offences involving a game based on the toss of a dice.

In Dice, each of the jurors has a turn at narration, giving readers an insight into how the trial is affecting their life and how their experience and background affect their perception of the trial.

Claire is a fiction writer and law researcher based in Rotorua. Her short stories and novel extracts have been published in Sport, Landfall, Turbine | Kapohau andTakahē, on the Radio New Zealand National Programme and in regional newspapers. Claire was a senior law academic in the Victoria University of Wellington Law Faculty for 12 years.

Claire had wanted to write a book since she was 6 years old - Dice is her first novel.

Read more about the novel and read and excerpt on Claire's website.

McLeods Booksellers will be on hand selling copies of the book.
