One of the gems of the 2022 Fringe returns with three very different shows. On the 23rd, Maggie plays her own music alongside covers.

After 10 years as a session musician and touring artist with big bands, big names, and big productions, there’s only one kind of show that scares Maggie Cocco: her own. Tune in to a stripped down, intimate performance where Maggie shares stories, original songs, and remakes for voice and guitar.

On the 24th and 25th she will perform her interactive multimedia experiment featuring a contemporary song cycle and improvised collaborations with a local artist. The shows’ improvisatory nature ensures each performance is unique and irreplicable.

Maggie uses the shows to explore themes of interpersonal and systemic abuse, and resilience, creating a truly special experience for performers and audiences alike.
Maggie cites artists Trent Morgan and Kim Groeneveld as inspiration – “In a response to the digital age, where a proliferation of information collides with a scarcity of attention, we are here to highlight the importance and transformative power of being present and connecting with art and each other through a shared experience.”
Maggie has been presenting these experimental shows since 2020. Maggie performs a song cycle for voice and piano. Alongside, a local artist will use the music to create a visual artwork in real time. Audiences are invited to engage with themes on interpersonal and systemic abuse, and to release thoughts that arise via optional audience participation prompts.
