An interactive performance exploring what lies behind the social masks we wear in everyday circumstances. Who am I if I am not the mask? You are invited to witness, be inspired and join Dani as she explores how wearing a mask manifests within the body and what it feels to move through that and what lays beneath...

To stand bare with no mask and show our true self takes courage. Courage to face our programmes beliefs, stories and loops, to go within and heal the traumas we encounter as we grow and live in this world. To move past the operating system and come home to the heart. To realize we are not who we think we are. We are more than just the mind.
The mask is to hold in or hold out.

The mask shows our egoic identity, the one we present to the world based on our programming. Everyone's masks are different and yet create the same boundaries from each other and ourselves. They are a way of dealing with the world and what it asks of us, a way of hiding and a way of keeping distance so there is a sense of safety. To remove the mask is to step into the unknown, leaving behind who we think we are and going within to remember our true self.

The masks we wear are the faces we become, but when the mask is lifted who and what is beneath? This is the discovery of who am I who am Ii not, when our environment conditioning is lifted what is left? Unlimited potential? A clarity to follow the blueprint of consciousness?

Who is it that we hide from the world and ourselves, and why? Allowing the intimacy that comes from within when we reach into the body and stir up what is buried we may find it hard to face who we are and who we are not... for if all things are love, are we not love?
Am I worthy? I am worthy!
Am I deserving? I am deserving!
I am loving! Am I loved?
Am I light? I can bring light!
I am the way.
I want to explore through dance/movement and music what it is to wear, remove and be with no masks. To embody thoughts and emotions that block us from feeling the expansion of true unconditional love for self, so that through dance these psychological spaces may shift and reveal how it feels to be I.

The performance encourages others to see, feel and participate in this process, by creating an openness for connection and intimacy to both witnessing myself and potentially others in their embodied thoughts, emotions and movement, through the powerful tool of mirroring.
As a woman exploring this process I wish to create a space for other women (and men open to understanding the challenges of the multiple roles women play in our society) to witness and potentially experience the act of removing a mask.
What are the multitude of masks we wear as women?
Who am I, who am I not if the mask drops?
