Community Contemporary Dance Workshops

Open to beginners, all ages and dance experiences are welcome!

Starting off with a warm up and basic stretching, then we'll do improvisational "tasking" creating movements together. Then learning a short dance phrase/ sequence, with free movement at the end.
The values behind community dance are grounded within inclusion, encouragement and accessibility. Dance is for everyone.

The workshop will be run by Cindy Yunha Jang-Barlow who’s been facilitating community dance spaces for over 7 years. She’s taught with NZDC Feisty Feet seniors classes, StarJam, retirement villages, non- profit organizations and community classes around Auckland Tāmaki Makaurau, she’s recently come back from teaching community dance workshops in Melbourne Fringe and at the Seoul Dance Center in South Korea.
