This is a very unique exhibition. Norman Scott served in the Royal Air Force in WW2 and was captured as a Prisoner of War. After the war he attended the Slade School of Art in London and graduated with a Diploma in Fine Arts. Scott returned to Gisborne in 1948 and spent the rest of his life working full-time as an artist. He is perhaps best remembered for his oil paintings, though he was a very competent watercolourist and sculptor.
