OMG23 Keynote: Using Mathematical Visualisation Tools

As part of our Oceania MathsJam Gathering weekend extravaganza (www.mathsjam.nz), we offer a keynote talk open to the public. All are welcome to attend this talk for koha / gold coin at the door. This year our speaker, Todd Rangiwhetu, is coming all they way from Wellington for OMG23 to present his talk: The Use (and Misuse) of Mathematical Visualisation Tools. Don't miss it!

Talk abstract: Let's make full use of our pattern-recognition skills and take a journey through some visualisations of mathematical ideas and constructs. We'll see some of the free tools currently available (such as Geogebra) and find out what we can do with them, as well as revisiting some interesting historical maths visualisation tools. This will be a fun, demonstration-based talk accessible to all. Come along and answer questions you never knew you had!

Todd Rangiwhetu is a human who loves maths. That has manifested in many forms, including turning coffee into theorems, teaching in NZ and the UK, writing online and TV mathematical content, and MathsJamming since it started in a pub in London. Todd is also a co-organiser for Wellington Mathsjam.
