The shores and hills of Queenstown are home to a number of talented wordsmiths. Here's your chance to meet a few of them!
Join us to hear six Queenstown writers share a moment from their work that considers the idea of arrival. Expect stories of physical arrivals as well as those that happen inwardly; arrivals that mean a shedding of the old, and those that anticipate the new.
The writers are poet and short story author Bethany G. Rogers; novelist, blogger and science writer Jane Shearer; writer, poet, performer Julian Noel; novelist and non-fiction writer Franciska Soares; non-fiction and feature writer, documentary filmmaker Peta Carey; and novelist and columnist Sumi Hahn.
Writers will read from a published work or respond to the night's theme with new words.
Entry is by koha; registration is essential.
Queenstown Writers Festival (11 & 12 November 2023) brings together writers from across Aotearoa to discuss bold ideas and their latest literary work. This year's programme circles around the mysterious and morbid, and turns over the deeply personal act of memoir writing. Don’t miss the opportunity to be part of these conversations.
