The local Dutch community, with assistance from the Netherlands Embassy in Wellington, is organising an Orange Bike Ride on Sunday 30 April 2023. The Orange Bike Ride aims to promote cycling as a sustainable means of transport which helps us to address climate change through a standout and enjoyable family oriented event connecting New Zealanders with the local Dutch communities in as many regions as possible across Aotearoa New Zealand.
The event forms part of the annual Dutch Week festival, which will be held from 27 April to 6 May 2023, celebrating all things Dutch such as culture, language, heritage and food and highlights the strong connections between the Netherlands and Aotearoa New Zealand. It aims to share Dutch culture and contributions of local Dutch communities and businesses in a diverse Aotearoa New Zealand.

People can ride the reasonably short track once or multiple times. While waiting for prize giving, games and activities are available for the children.
