Welcome to Ōtara-Papatoetoe Talks: Ngaa Mea Maaori from iwi perspective Workshop.
The workshop is for all those seeking to better understand and appreciate the indigenous culture of New Zealand.
A meaningful and educational experience for participants to learn the importance of whakapapa (genealogy) in Māori culture; particularly in the Ōtara-Papatoetoe area, as well as the powhiri (welcome ceremony) and what makes Māori unique from an iwi perspective.
Participants can engage in interactive activities such as waiata (singing) and karakia (prayers) and storytelling to deepen understanding and appreciation of Māori culture.
