International concert organist Colin Andrews will be performing on ‘Norma’ the Dunedin Town Hall organ. 'Pomp and fireworks' celebrates the recent coronation with a selection of music written for previous royal celebrations, complemented by a selection of French show-pieces for the organ, including Charles-Marie Widor’s famous Toccata from the 5th Organ Symphony, and Joseph Bonnet’s stirring Variations de concert. The programme will highlight the power and wide variety of colours of the fabulous Town Hall organ ‘Norma’.

Born and trained in the UK, Colin studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London, and with Lionel Rogg at the Geneva Conservatoire. For many years he has been based in the USA, but has performed extensively world-wide: between 2017 and 2019 he gave 136 concerts across the globe, visiting Australia, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Russia, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, Poland, The Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, Kazakhstan, Germany, France, the UK as well as the USA. He has recorded extensively for radio and CD, including the complete organ works of Olivier Messiaen.

The concert begins at 3pm and will last approximately 75 minutes. Admission is by donation at the door.
