There are as many different ways to approach the art of acting as there are stars in the sky.
But is there one right way?
Performers draw their inspiration from multiple sources, discarding what doesn't work for them, and adopting aspects that do. This is referred to as "The Actor's Toolkit."
In this workshop, led by professional actor Mark Neilson, you'll learn a few of the techniques that make up his actor's toolkit, including text analysis based on the teachings of Mike Alfreds, simple methods for affecting character physicality, status, and vocal control.
This workshop is intended for teenage participants, and is recommended for ages 12 – 17.
During the first half of the workshop, you'll be introduced to these techniques, and in the second, you'll be applying what you've learned to act one, scene one of Romeo and Juliet.
