Raranga Wananga: Weaving Paraerae (Māori sandals)

Mt Roskill Library has been given the fantastic opportunity to host a free Māori weaving workshop by Ahi Nyx.
Ahi Nyx is a takatāpui kairaranga based in Tāmaki Makaurau. The workshop focuses on reconnection and rediscovery of what was almost lost through colonisation. Pre-colonisation all members of our society would have some weaving skills.
We encourage every age and every identity to join us in learning traditional weaving known as raranga.
