Let's get repairing and re-fashioning!

Join us for a fun and engaging afternoon workshop to celebrate Slow Fashion September. Sarah Sew Love brings her years of sewing experience and engaging teaching style to the workshop, and you'll be supported to learn new skills in a welcoming small group. (Check out her Instagram in the link above!).

This workshop is for confident sewists - participants are expected to have already mastered beginner sewing skills.

BYO item that needs repairing, re-fashioning or a little TLC, and we'll help you breathe new life into it. We'll supply a range of fabric scraps and inspiration, but please BYO fabric or any special trims or accessories you may want to incorporate.

Make sure you book asap to reserve a spot at the table with us. (If this event reaches capacity, we may release further tickets if those participants are happy to sew by hand.) BYO sewing machine - but please let us know if you need to borrow one and we can reserve one of ours for you:  shelley.wilson@waipadc.govt.nz

Once you've booked, you'll be invited to attend a free group Zoom session with Sarah the week before the event. Here, you'll have the opportunity to ask her any questions, talk through your idea, and make sure you've got all the supplies you need. We'll also give you a special discount code for a future one-on-one or group online sewing session, so that you can continue to nurture your repairing and re-fashioning skills.

This really is a wonderful wrap-around opportunity to upcycle an item from your wardrobe - we look forward to sewing alongside you!

We've also got workshops for beginner sewists in the morning. Check out all our great Slow Fashion September events by clicking on our 'Waipā Waste Minimisation' profile link above.
