Asian(sound)scapes X Ponsonby Social Presents: romiin • Ray Leslie • DJ RNG†sus

For one-night only, three of Tāmaki Makaurau's hottest Filipino-Kiwi artists are teaming up to bring us a party that's not to be missed.

Romiin
Romiin is a Filipino-born, New Zealand-based singer/songwriter ready to serve new vibes in today’s fast-evolving music landscape. An R&B crooner, he creates smooth, velvet yet soulful slow jams with catchy melodies on modern R&B arrangements that naturally echo the sounds of artists like Mac Ayres, ASTN, and RINI. Early mentorship and co-sign from NZ music greats David Atai (Nesian Mystik) and Marcus Powell (Blindspott/City of Souls) solidified Romiin’s pursuit of a music career – starting out in his early teens as a solo acoustic act, becoming the clean vocalist for Auckland Hardcore Band “New Beginnings'', to finally realise himself as an R&B artist.

Ray Leslie
Ray Leslie, a twenty-five-year-old with a buzz cut and some BIG BIG BIG dreams. She's been writing music since she was ten years old and fell head over heels for hip-hop at thirteen. Within the past five years, Ray has released a total of two albums and three EPs that have revealed an artist perfecting her sound as she continues to tap into her boundless potential.

Dj Rng†sus
Mariadelle 'Abbey' Gamit' aka RNG†sus is a queer Pinoy interdisciplinary artist and DJ based in Tāmaki Makaurau. Their main practice revolves around themes of the post-digital, hyperreality and the relationships surrounding identity and data. With these themes manifesting in their mixes as well; expect different genres in one set - ranging from hyperpop, hardcore techno, electro, jersey club and more. RNG†sus is here to take you on a trip with mixes that are 'determined largely by luck, chance or randomness' on the dance floor. Divine intervention or hellish chaos? Either way, it's a guaranteed good time!

Doors open: 7pm
Show starts: 8pm
