Scottish born Kiwi, Sandy Cunningham has been woodcarving most of his life and is now finally showing his extensive body of work to the public. With over 100 carvings being showcased, made mostly from New Zealand native wood.
Sandy’s carvings reflect his imagination, sense of humour and unique perspective. With a wide range of subject matter from lighthearted pieces playing on quirky childhood characters from his early life in Glasgow through to more introspective and thought provoking pieces that tell a story based on his own life experiences and influenced by books he has read.

Entry to Sandys Showdown is free, donations are welcomed with all profits going to both the Cancer Society and the Opotiki Arts Society.
