There’s no way you can stop, the School of Rock!
Based on the famous Paramount film starring Jack Black, School of Rock the Musical follows Dewey Finn, a failed wannabe rock star who decides to earn a few extra bucks by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. Completely disinterested in academic work, Dewey decides to create his own curriculum, turning his class into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band.
The talented students of Auckland Performing Arts Academy bring you this entertaining musical featuring all the amazing songs from the movie and a sensational all-singing, dancing, AND instrument-playing cast!
School of Rock, with its sensational live kids' rock band, is a loving testimony to the transforming power of music.
May the spirit of rock be with you!
Please note:
This show features two alternating casts of youth performers (Cast Hendrix and Cast Zeppelin).
The venue opens 60 minutes before the start of each show. Refreshments are available.. Cash sales and Eftpos available.
Auckland Performing Arts Academy is a youth musical theatre training programme, for 7 to 22-year-olds, based on the North Shore. APAA produces two full-scale musicals every year. Registrations for their next production, Legally Blonde, open in June. Students attend weekly show rehearsals and receive musical theatre training through classes in singing, different styles of dance, acting, and performance skills from industry professionals. Legally Blonde will be performed at the ASB Waterfront Theatre from December 15-17.
